Synthesis of Renewable Nylon Monomers with Poplar Wood.Scientists have developed a method for synthesis of nylon monomers with poplar wood. Different from previous reports, this work offers an example for the direct utilization of the raw biomass without the separation of cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin, which may lead to lower energy consumption and higher efficiency in real applications. Considering the great social concerns about sustainable development and the demand for nylon, this process has great potential for industrial applications.
