Halving Emissions by 2030 can Keep 1.5°C Within Reach.
Researchers from the University of Leeds have worked with hundreds of experts from across the world to deliver the latest Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report, which assesses the methods for reducing emissions and removing greenhouse gases from the atmosphere.

The costs of solar and wind energy have fallen by up to 85%. Yet, average annual greenhouse gas emissions were at their highest levels in human history in the decade to 2019.

Major transitions are needed in the energy sector, including a substantial reduction in the use of fossil fuels, widespread electrification, improved energy efficiency, and the use of alternative fuels such as hydrogen.

Many of these changes will also enhance health and wellbeing, employment and equality.

It's so disappointing that these reports aren't adopted by local councils.

I get berated locally for trying to bring up the issue of climate change, and the go to response recently has been it's a central government issue.

This baffles me.

It's like the idea of making a difference on a personal level doesn't matter because we can blame other countries for not doing enough - when did we turn into a society where blame takes precedent over action?

There's scientific minds around the globe looking to do everything we can to mitigate the impact of climate change and I do personally feel it's ignored by the average member of the public and I can't figure out whether it's a generational issue, a lack of understanding or just a mentality of it's not a problem until it happens.
